What makes Long John Silver’s seafood tastes like no other seafood in the world? It’s our secret batter. Every piece of our trademark fish, shrimp and chicken is hand-dipped in our one-of-a-kind batter and then cooked in 100% vegetable shortening to create a delicious crunchy taste.

We prepare fresh batter throughout the day to make sure that every bite has the perfect flavor.

 

AT SEA
Our fish comes exclusively from prime fishing areas located in icy, cold global waters. The first quality inspection is performed at sea, as each catch is quickly
cleaned, cut and frozen.

ON SHORE
A second check takes place on shore, in our LJS seafood Audit and Inspection Laboratories. LJS maintains two such facilities in the U.S. and one overseas.
Each lab is staffed by quality assurance specialists who make certain our rigid specifications are met.

IN SHOP
Finally, all fish are carefully inspected for quality at each shop, where trained, experienced managers carefully examine the fish/shrimp for colour, texture and freshness.
